Which tea is right for you
Six teas, two with caffeine and four without. Start with when you'll drink it.
First thing in the morning
Assam Black — a robust Indian black tea, malty and full. Takes milk well, holds up iced. The most caffeine of anything we sell. If you drink coffee and want a tea that doesn't feel like a step down, this is it. $16 for 50 cups.
Mid-morning or afternoon
Nepali Green Pearl — hand-rolled whole-leaf green from a high-altitude cooperative in Nepal. Clean and structured, with a sweetness that comes through on the second steep. Lighter caffeine than black tea. $20 for 35 cups, and each spoonful steeps two or three times.
After a meal
Traveler — cumin, coriander, fennel, ginger, and cardamom. Warm and savory, built on the spices Ayurvedic tradition reaches for after eating. Caffeine-free. $18 for 40 cups.
Winding down
Flora — chamomile, rosehips, hibiscus, and marshmallow root. Bright and a little tart from the hibiscus, soft from the marshmallow. The one to reach for in the evening. Caffeine-free. $16 for 35 cups.
Solstice — peppermint, chamomile, lemongrass, and hyssop. Cooling and clear, more lift than Flora. Good hot after dinner or iced through the afternoon. Caffeine-free. $16 for 45 cups.
Something savory and grounding
Earth — rooibos, nettle, hyssop, and sage. Mineral and botanical rather than sweet or floral. The blend for people who don't usually like herbal tea. Caffeine-free. $16 for 35 cups.
If you're new to loose leaf
Start with Solstice or Assam Black. Both are forgiving — an extra minute of steeping doesn't ruin them. Then read how to brew loose leaf; it takes two minutes.
